The story
Like most musicians, I spend far too much time watching gear videos on YouTube. Back in 2021, I came across a video titled “Top 5 Boutique Guitars You’ve Never Heard Of” that included Fidelity Guitars. I was struck by the retro vibes of their instruments gave them a follow on Instagram.Â
Â
In April of 2023 I lost my grandma. She and my grandpa, who we lost in 2005, were two of my biggest cheerleaders. They always encouraged my interest in music and embraced my individuality. A few weeks after my grandma’s passing, I decided to commission a custom bass as a tribute to them.Â
Â
I reached out to Matt at Fidelity Guitars to get the ball rolling. I decided to call it “Meadowlark” in honor of the the street my grandparents lived on when I was a kid. Matt and I worked through the options and I made a handful of customization requests, combining elements of various guitars and basses he had made in the past. Â
